Nagari Nivara Parishad

Administration of the Project

Nagari Nivara Parishad, formed in 1981, was registered as a Public Trust on 6.09.1985 under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950. Its registration number is E.10394 and it is manned by eminent social workers with over 30 years experience of public life. Nagari Nivara Parishad holds the necessary FCRA registration.


Board of Trustees



Ex-Member of State Legislature, was President on board of Management of two educational institutions at Goregaon in Mumbai, has actively worked in co-operative movement in consumer and banking sectors, and is in public life as a Socialist since 1948. He passed away in February 2009 at the age of 86.

A Socialist State leader, was a Member of Parliament, Member of State Legislature and Mumbai Municipal Corporation, uninterruptedly from 1961 to 1990. A staunch supporter for Women's empowerment and is in public life as a socialist since 1948.

 


Was a member of Mumbai Municipal Corporation for 20 years, had been active in consumer co-operative movement for over 35 years, a studious organiser in slum areas for long time ,and is in public life as a socialist since 1955.

He has been appointed as a Trustee in March 2009. He is active in the field of education and also has experience in the field of construction.

Chief Executive for this project

 

Late Mr. J. B. D'Souza, retired I.A.S. and ex-Chief Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra, who took the responsibility of executing this housing project in an honorary capacity was the Chief Executive for this project,who expired on 2nd September 2007 at the age of 85 years. Even during his failing health, he used to attend the weekly meetings, where progress of the ongoing work used to be reviewed. He was a great inspiration for the Project.
